Welcome on the website of the
Laboratory of Climatology
The Laboratory counts two teachers-researchers, six researchers and about ten scientific partners. The Laboratory is part of the Physical Geography and Quaternary Unit of the Department of Geography (Faculty of Sciences) of the University of Liège.
The Laboratory provides many teachings (including climatology and meteorology) for different sections of bachelor, master and complementary master. Particularly, it offers highly specialized teachings in topoclimatology, zonal climatology, applied climatology, programming and remote sensing applied to climatology, regional climate modeling, ... within the Master in Climatology. This master is coordinated with the help of the AGO Department and leads to all professions in meteorology and climatology.
The research takes a significant part of the activities of the Laboratory, through many research projects and publications. The research domains are mainly climatology applied to the spatial and temporal variability of local and regional climates, « up-to-date » instrumental meteorological data campaigns and regional climate modeling.
The Laboratory plays an important role in consortiums, research networks and works with public and private Belgian organisms which are conerned by climate variability. It benefits of an efficient informatic network.
The Laboratory produces continuously weather forecasts over Belgium.
It organizes the MeteoClim2012 PhD Symposium, the 1st June 2012 at the Institute of Geography.
